Things You Need to Know about the Pohick POD

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of other makers:

  • We welcome all Makers ages 13 and up. Activities in this space are designed for teens and adults. Makers aged 10-12 are welcome if they are supervised by a parent or caregiverat all times. Please ask at the information desk about opportunities for Makers under the age of 10.
  • All tools and technology are available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. Most items are available for independent use by patrons. However, only library staff members can operate the 3D printers.
  • Programs, unless otherwise specified, are also on a first come, first served basis, and may be limited by capacity.
  • Ask for help. A staff member or trained volunteer is present during operating hours to provide information and answer questions.
  • Drop-in time is self-directed. We cannot ensure that staff will always be available to provide expert assistance with every device and tool, but we are committed to helping our Makers create and explore and make the most of this exciting library space!
  • Please be respectful of equipment, tools, and supplies. Makers are responsible for cleaning common use areas and related equipment when finished with an activity.
  • Notify a library staff member if an item is missing pieces, broken, or otherwise needs attention.
  • Some materials are provided for free, and we encourage Makers to bring their own.
  • We ask patrons to acknowledge these POD expectations when they use the space.

FCPL’s Code of Conduct and Internet Acceptable Use Agreement apply to the POD.
