The Land Development Services Customer Experience Team is available to help residents and businesses through the various permitting processes.
About
Walk-in Customer Support
- LDS staff are available to answer questions for walk-in customers at the Herrity Building, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Friday, 9:15 a.m. – 4 p.m. Please note that visitors may not be added to in-person queues past 3:45 p.m.
- The Herrity Building is located at 12055 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax.
Staff can answer questions and troubleshoot problems; however, the following transactions must be completed by customers through the Planning and Land Use System (PLUS):
- Apply for a user account
- Apply for a permit
- Upload a building plan
- Respond to plan reviewer comments
- Schedule an inspection
- Check the status of records
- Pay fees
Building Permit Support includes anything related to the building itself or the trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
Site Permit Support includes anything related to the soil.
