Fairfax County Supplier Diversity Program

Provides support, resources, and hosts workshops for prospective vendors, with a focus on facilitating the participation of small, woman-owned, and minority-owned (SWaM) businesses in Fairfax County’s procurement process.

About

Supplier diversity is a critical component to Fairfax County’s responsible and sustainable sourcing efforts. A supply chain that mirrors our community’s diversity helps establish a pipeline of innovation, ensures robust competition, helps buffer against risk and much more.

In alignment with the One Fairfax Policy and its recognition that economic inclusivity benefits all, the mission of the Supplier Diversity Program is to provide the necessary support to the Small, Minority-owned, Women-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned (SWaM) business community desiring to do business in and with Fairfax County.

Programs aimed at facilitating the participation of SWaM businesses in Fairfax County’s procurement transactions include hosting workshops for prospective suppliers, co-hosting informational events with strategic community partners, soliciting feedback from the business community, seeking ways to advance equity in procurement policies and practices, and more.
